Themes & Dress Code
You’ve travelled all the way to Amboseli. It would be uncharacteristic — and frankly a little shameful — of us not to make you dress for it.
So each part of the weekend has a theme. We had a lot of fun imagining them and hope you have just as much fun tarting yourselves up accordingly.
Don’t be that guy who flew thousands of miles to dress like an accountant in the vanilla trade.
Welcome Dinner
Friday 29 May (18:30)
Serena Safari Lodge
In Sweden, Midsummer celebrates the longest day of the year — flowers in your hair, light that refuses to leave, everyone leaning fully into summer.
In Indian tradition, Mehndi is the gathering before the wedding — colour, henna, and the coming together of friends and family before the vows.
We’re bringing them together. Solstice meets marigold. Scandinavian summer meets Indian warmth. Our bellies meet the flavours of Kenya. Expect colour. Expect florals. Expect warmth and easy conversation as the weekend begins. This is not the night for beige.
Come colourful. Come sun-charged. Come like it’s the longest day of the year — and we intend to use all of it.
Wedding/Reception
Saturday 30 May (15:30)
Amboseli/Ol Tukai Lodge
We’re getting married in the savannah — under open sky, on real ground, in the kind of light Kenya does better than anywhere.
For both of us, being connected to the earth matters. So this won’t be stiff or overly formal. It’s a celebration — but an honest one.
Think summer wedding — but in the savannah. Linen jackets. Flowy dresses. Earth tones: sand, clay, olive, rust, ivory. Natural fabrics. Movement. Ease.
You’re outdoors. You’re in Africa. Dress accordingly.
Relaxed, elegant, grounded — and ready to carry straight into the reception as the sun drops.
Wedding Afterparty
Saturday 30 May (midnight)
Ol Tukai Lodge
Just imagine if Studio 54 lost its map and ended up in the savannah.
This is where the current shifts and the night stops behaving. Dress like your AI styled you for a high-voltage safari rave with impeccable taste - Primal. Punk. Future.
Pull out the piece that feels slightly dangerous. The one that doesn’t usually get its moment.
Come ready!
The Amboseli Pool Club
All-Day Pool Party & Brunch
Sunday 31 May (12:30)
Ol Tukai Lodge - Poolside
Day parties are our religion. Adarsh has a long-standing commitment to them.
Think Palm Springs in the 60s/70s/early 80s - when pools were stages and sunglasses did half the talking. Desert glamour, relocated to Amboseli.
Retro swimwear. Silk shirts. Strong colours. High-waisted everything. Yes, animal print still works - it would be rude not to.
It’s sun, cocktails, the best poolside bangers, and absolutely no winding down.
Do not schedule your departure unless you enjoy regret.
